Together, We Will Lead Santa Fe Forward
Vision for Santa Fe’s Future
Leadership rooted in accountability, equity, and results.
Santa Fe stands at a critical juncture. While our city is defined by its beauty, history, and culture, it is also facing urgent challenges — a growing housing crisis, increased homelessness, public safety concerns, strained infrastructure, and a need for greater transparency in government. My administration will lead with purpose, professionalism, and results.
This platform reflects a commitment to governing effectively — by investing in people, strengthening city systems, and delivering on what matters most to residents.
1. Fiscal Accountability & Transparent Governance
Top Priority: First 100 Days
A government that manages taxpayer dollars responsibly earns public trust. My first action as mayor will be to restore fiscal discipline and transparency.
Objectives:
-
Complete all overdue financial audits within the first 100 days
-
Launch a public-facing transparency dashboard for budget and city performance metrics
-
Establish a Mayor’s Office of Accountability & Results to track service delivery and financial efficiency
-
Modernize city systems to increase transparency and prevent mismanagement
Departments: Finance | Internal Audit | City Manager
2. Housing & Homelessness Solutions
Addressing the crisis with urgency and compassion
Housing is a fundamental human need. Santa Fe’s affordability crisis demands a coordinated, city-led response grounded in public investment and service integration.
Objectives:
-
Develop new public and deeply affordable housing units on city-owned land
-
Expand the Santa Fe Housing Trust Fund to support long-term affordability
-
Launch a Coordinated Homelessness Response Initiative combining shelter, mental health, addiction services, and housing navigation
-
Implement permanent supportive housing models for individuals with complex needs
Departments: Office of Affordable Housing | Community Services
3. Public Safety & Crisis Response
Ensuring safety through accountability, equity, and care
Safety must be comprehensive — not only enforcement, but also prevention and support.
Objectives:
-
Expand community policing programs that foster trust and local engagement
-
Establish a Behavioral Health Crisis Response Unit to reduce reliance on law enforcement in mental health emergencies
-
Modernize 911 response coordination between police, fire, and public health
-
Enhance officer training, retention, and wellness resources

4. Addiction Recovery & Behavioral Health
A public health approach to addiction and crisis care
The rise in addiction and untreated mental health conditions requires serious leadership and robust, coordinated services.
Objectives:
-
Invest in new detox and recovery facilities with wraparound support
-
Fund mobile mental health and peer outreach teams
-
Integrate mental health care into city housing and public safety programs
-
Support evidence-based harm reduction and long-term recovery strategies

5. Infrastructure Modernization & Public Works
Building and maintaining a city that works for everyone
From roads to clean water systems, a well-maintained city reflects its leadership. Santa Fe’s infrastructure needs urgent attention and equitable investment.
Objectives:

Prioritize repairs to roads, sidewalks, and public buildings, with neighborhood equity in mind
-
Expand stormwater infrastructure and green engineering
-
Modernize transit routes, improve pedestrian and bike accessibility
-
Launch an Infrastructure Report Card System to track progress publicly

6. Parks, Recreation & Public Spaces
Healthy, connected communities through open space and access
Parks are essential infrastructure. Recreation fosters health, belonging, and opportunity — especially for youth and families.
Objectives:

Increase maintenance funding for neighborhood parks and public spaces
-
Expand youth recreation and after-school programs
-
Modernize community centers, pools, and athletic facilities

Incentivize green building and solar adoption through updated codes and support
-
Improve waste diversion, tree canopy coverage, and climate education
Departments: Office of Sustainability | Water Division | Environmental Services
8. Community Engagement & Inclusive Governance
Bringing people back into the decision-making process
Democracy works best when government listens and includes everyone — not just the loudest voices.
Objectives:
-
Hold monthly community forums across all city districts
-
Establish a Mayor’s Advisory Cabinet representing diverse sectors and neighborhoods
-
Expand language access and equity initiatives across all departments
-
Include residents directly in budgeting and planning decisions
