From the Ground Up: A Plan for Economic Growth and Infrastructure Renewal

Leadership That Knows the Ground You Walk On

Santa Fe deserves a mayor who understands the real challenges our city faces—not from a distance, but from experience on the ground. I’m Letitia Montoya, a lifelong Santa Fe resident, local business owner, and the daughter of a federal project engineer. I’m running for Mayor because I know what responsible leadership looks like—and I’m not afraid to do the job the right way.

I’ve seen how decisions made behind closed doors can hurt our neighborhoods, our small businesses, and our families. I’ve lived it. I’ve worked through it. Now, I’m stepping up to lead with accountability, transparency, and common sense.

🏗️ Real-World Experience, Rooted in Family and Honor

I didn’t just grow up around public service—I was raised to respect the responsibility that comes with it.My father, a federal project engineer, helped build and maintain key infrastructure throughout the country. One of the most meaningful projects of his career was Carlsbad Caverns, a landmark not only of natural beauty but of engineering excellence—right here in our own state of New Mexico.

From a young age, he took me with him to job sites. I watched him evaluate plans, inspect construction zones, and hold crews to a higher standard. But the most important lesson he taught me wasn’t in the technical work—it was in the values behind it.

He always said:

“I don’t care what you do for a living. But if you dig a ditch, make sure you do it right—because that work is a reflection of who you are.”

That principle stayed with me. Do the work right. Don’t cut corners. Don’t be lazy. Take pride in your name and the results you leave behind.

It’s why I speak out when a street project takes years and millions more than promised. It’s why I fight for accountability when businesses are disrupted with no support. And it’s why I’m running to lead Santa Fe—not just to do the job, but to do it right.

What I Stand For

🔹 Accountable Leadership

Every city project must be transparent, justified, and managed with community oversight.

🔹 Infrastructure That Works

Fix what’s broken—first. Traffic, water, sidewalks, and city services should be clean, safe, and up to modern standards.

🔹 Support for Small Business

Santa Fe's local economy depends on small business success. I’ll protect it with funding, policy support, and smarter planning.

🔹 Residents Over Tourism

We can welcome visitors without sacrificing livability. It's time we put our people first again.

📈 A Plan for a Stronger Santa Fe

My Santa Fe Economic Growth & Sustainability Plan is focused on:

  • Protecting local businesses

  • Investing in essential infrastructure

  • Improving government efficiency

  • Ensuring responsible and balanced growth

This isn’t a collection of vague promises—it’s a commitment to doing what works, what’s needed, and what’s right.

I’m Ready to Lead—Because I’ve Lived It

I’ve worked outside in this city. I’ve raised a family here. I’ve run a business here. I’ve lived through the problems most politicians only talk about. And thanks to my father, I learned early on how real leadership works—through discipline, service, and pride in every detail.

This campaign is about bringing those values into City Hall and raising the bar for how our government serves its people.
